For 29 years, the medical conferences hosted by Genesis Research Trust’s Symposium Office have welcomed tens of thousands of delegates from across the world to hear from highly-experienced, expert leaders in their field.
Held at some of the most prestigious venues in central and west London, including the Royal Society of Medicine, BMA House and Imperial College, this year in order to enable an even wider audience and more Southern countries to benefit from the conferences, we have introduced live web streaming. Participants are now able to hear from some of the world’s foremost surgeons, researchers and medical authorities online, either live or at a more convenient time.
Launched at our Neonatal Cranial Ultrasound conference in March, web streaming has already been used by over 150 delegates. This has increased Genesis’s reach into countries we would otherwise be unable to connect with in such a tangible way. At our Begin Before Birth conference in June, 100 delegates were able to benefit from web-streaming the lectures. This trebled the number of delegates from 2018.
Furthermore, this innovation has not detracted from delegates attending the conferences in person, with well over 550 attendees to lectures since web steaming was introduced.
Moving forwards, we aim to introduce web streaming for all our conferences, so that as many professionals as possible can benefit and share in the latest research and technology advances, medical best practice and techniques.
